A belt gives your midsection something firm to brace against. Take a big breath into your belly, push out against the belt and hold it while you squat or pull. This nylon belt is 10 cm wide all the way round, so it sits flat whether you wear it high or low.
The hook-and-loop band lets you set the tightness in small steps, and the quick-release buckle closes over it so the belt stays put under load. It goes on and off in a few seconds between sets, which suits circuits and home training as well as barbell work.
